Sarah McInroe is a figurative and abstract painter who earned her BFA from Texas Tech University in 2008. During that time she worked mainly on figures and had the opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy. After graduating she moved to East Texas and was heavily influenced by the woods, blooms, and foliage in her work. She has painted several collections and custom paintings over the years and had the opportunity to partner with Minted , Samsung’s The Frame TV, as well as commerical businesses and private collectors. She

continues to paint custom pieces and release work through her website.

Working in acrylics and mixed media, she looks for harmony and balance between realism and abstraction. Subjects are often placed on backgrounds full of color and texture in order to evoke a sense of mood, place, or memory. In recent work, deconstructed petals and plants fall into spacious and relaxing forms on the canvas. Layers of paint are poured, dripped, and scraped in several layers mimicking forest floors and underbrush. Lush strokes of color, texture, and delicate line are reminiscent of foliage and wings.

Sarah works in her studio from home and lives with her husband and two kids.

“I love how her work is modern yet timeless, whimsical yet intentional. These two pieces captivate my guests, and I often catch people leaning towards the art to explore the many layers and details. Sarah was easy to work with, and I appreciated how she took me along with her on the creative journey. I am proud to display her art in my home.”

“They are even more beautiful in person!  I wanted to tell you my three-year old daughter’s reaction to seeing “This is what it takes to fly”.  She said, “You painted me?  You bought this for me?  I love it! I love it! You’re my honey now!!!  You have a fan for life in us!”

- Alana, Connecticut

“We just wanted to thank you so much for the beautiful painting you created for us. It brings us joy every day. It pairs so well with the environment we created. We couldn't be happier about how it turned out.”
