Sarah McInroe is a fine artist who earned her BFA from Texas Tech University and now lives and works in east Texas. Working in acrylics and mixed media, she looks for a harmony and balance between realism and abstraction. Subjects are often placed on backgrounds full of color and texture in order to evoke a sense of mood, place, or memory. In her recent abstract work layers of paint are brushed, dripped, and scraped before the final layer, mimicking layered forest floors and shadowy underbrush. Lush strokes of color, texture, and delicate line are reminiscent of foliage, wildflowers, nests, and wings.
